Lessons at school

Classes are mostly held in blocks. Our approach: working on nursing situations together with the perspective of therapy, for example mobilisation, everyday skills, speech and swallowing. In addition, there is practical training in small groups.

Practice at the company

You conclude your training contract with a provider of practical training, for example an outpatient care service, a nursing home or a hospital. The outpatient care service of Corpus Callosum GmbH also offers training. Night shifts are not added until the second half of training, under supervision.

Exams

Interim exam and state examination

After two years, the intermediate examination shows where you stand. It helps with planning the final year and does not decide whether you may continue.

At the end comes the state final examination, with three parts:

  • written: three written exams on care situations
  • oral: an oral examination on a case situation
  • practical: you care for people in a real situation, usually in your in-depth area

Targeted preparation with practice cases and mock examinations is planned. planned

Your qualification

Once you have passed the examination, you apply for permission to use the professional title Pflegefachfrau or Pflegefachmann (qualified nurse). The generalist degree is automatically recognised in the countries of the European Union.

If you wish to specialise in children or the elderly in the last third, you may, under certain conditions, also choose a separate degree in paediatric nursing or elderly care. We will advise you on this.
